There is a whole new set of dynamics taking part when you are marketing your service. Of course it all will depend on your service, but many are the type that involves giving a quote to the prospective customer. But the interesting aspect many people experience is there will often be lingering questions after the quote is given. We humans frequently ask reflective questions wondering if things might have been different. Is it best to have quoted a higher price? Was it too low or too high, etc. Could you have gotten more and would it have been worth it? One thing that is pretty common with service providers is more work can often happen with any job. We want to look at this unique aspect concerning pricing for the service based businesses.

There are a thousand different service based businesses on the net, probably more. Why don’t we take a minute to examine something that is actually pretty important. You are also, and more notably, providing your clientele with a set of clear advantages for their business. Your clients, or potential clients, think about benefits in much more valuable terms and feelings than anything else, usually. When someone thinks of a service provider, or receiving a service, there’s a tremendously basic feeling attached to it. We all get services of one kind every day, and once again no unique feelings about it. So what you do is utilize the strength of market positioning; you do not supply a service – you give people benefits. But on the other hand you should not swing to the extreme reverse direction. You may have to shop around, but simply search on your service keywords and look at others who offer similar services as you. By doing that you can at least have some kind of point from which to start your own evaluation.

Be wary falling for the lure of being willing to lower your fees when someone hints it – no fiddling around with your fees. Even if you obviously state your fees on your site, you will find people who will want to get you to come down as much as possible. Dropping your fees just reflects poorly on you; as if you have low self-esteem and self worth, etc.
